We booked for 2 night on b.com. When we arrived I felt like we aren't welcome in this hotel. Receptionist was extremely rude!!!!! No hello, no smile, nothing! Just angry face!!! I'm working as well at hotel and I really know about service, but this one was really bad!!! She gave us super small room, with extra small bathroom, carpet was burned, cover as well. No minibar, nothing at all! When we asked her,she said " what do u want in this price ?" and she was talking loudly with us, really rude . It seems like no one loves her and that's why she's so angry and unhappy. She humiliated us! And then I told her to change her voice tone, cause isn't service at all, she screamed and said " now I'm leaving" !!!
After she called someone, and also b.com for cancellation. Finally we leaved that place.
It was the worst experience ever!
I'm repeating!!! Isn't just about room,It's about her, that she was disaster and disrespectful !!!
Totally not recommended!!! I really don't know why this type of "people" are working in hospitality!!!!!!
P.s. By the way! In the same price we found good hotel with great receptionist!!! P.p.s more city center!!!!
P.p.p.s yes, I know Italian! For her information when she was talking in Italian!!! And yes, I can't write review on b.com , but here yes!!!!

I have always found this small hotel very nice, clean and with fair prices. I think that this Hotel should be considered more like a 3 stars one.
Staff is friendly and welcoming. Just the last time I was a bit disappointed cause I could not have the hot water and they didn't refund a part of total amount... But I have to admit that this just happened the last time on already Ten times that I stayed here!
I will back for Sure!

If You're looking for a place in the center of Rome, not close to Vatican and metro station - it's a place for You. Room was larger and bathroom much nicer that I could expect for the price paid (59 euros for a double with breakfast in May - had booked a year in advance !). Only breakfast... expect good espresso and pre-packaged cookies or sweet pastries. That's all ! And the service id quite ... strange. I had a printed confirmation of the booking form BudgetPlaces and the guy at the reception had to go through computer for a quarter of an hour to find it. That he asked with disbelief in his voice how did I manage to get such a price...Next day they asked me to pay for the room although I've transferred the money some 11 months ago.... And no word of apologies for that. Quite strange, I must say....

We found the dirty carpet with 1 big stain. The carpet seemed to be not vacuumed. We had the view to the background of building. Reception staff was ok, but not smiley so during the check/in we thought that we are not much welcome. Breakfast starts from 7.30 AM which was very late for us because of our visit to Vatican in early morning. We wanted to avoid to long queues of tourists into Vatican. We recommend to the hotel for 6.00 AM to starting the breakfast if possible. The breakfast was too small. It was only 1 sweet baguette, 1 butter, 1 small pack of biscuit and glass of poor sirup juice. Also we could ask for 1 coffee. On the 2nd morning the other guests (Italians) woke up us very early about 7 AM. They stayed in many rooms on our floor. It was a big family and all were very loud.
Hotel is situated on the quiet street, only 10 minutes to St.Peter“s square which was our priority for the stay and visit in Vatican. Hotel rooms are situated on the 1st floor of building. The other floors belong to other hotel or some private customers. The room was small, but nice and comfortable. We were happy with canopy over the bed. The TV had only Italian channels. In the wardrobe it was a safe and some hangers, blanket and 1 extra pillow. The quality of bed was good. We slept well. The wifi speed was excellent in the room. The bathroom was very small, but everything was ok. The reception was open 24 hours a day which was good. For opening the room door we used card and for the main entrance of the hotel we got 2 standard keys.

The hotel is located within walking distance from Vatican City, which is greatly connected by public transportation to the rest of Rome.
I got a single room which is quite small, (bed is the same size as the double room occupied by my family.) There is TV and a very slow WiFi connection, as well as a fridge. Service is bare minimum and some maintenance could help, but staff is very kind (for the most part Eastern European) and they do a good job in keeping clean. Free breakfast is available 7:30 to 10am.
Overall a valid choice for the money, provided you just need a place to sleep for a few nights.
